A Gallery of Makeovers!

Fauzi the Goverment Executive

Fauzi had brought his daughter’s for treatment and had done a clean-up at the clinic before too. It was only when he broke his old denture and came in for a new one did I suggest changing everything and doing a complete makeover. He didn’t believe the mirror when I showed him the end result!

Mohd Noor, the Musician

Mohd Noor, aka Jimi Hendrix of Malaysia, is a shy musician turned music producer/arranger. He seldom smiles according to his wife who is a singer. She told me he couldn’t believe that it took just one visit to close the unsightly gaps and that it was totally painless too!

IMG_3407 IMG_3412

Leela the Teacher

I always have a soft spot for Teachers. They are to me the people who really build our nation and the source of leaders in our country! Leela, the very shy  wife of a friend of mine, was very, very nervous.. but that was soon in the past! This time Leela made use of the school holidays to do something about the gap in the front of her smile. TG ,my friend, said Leela kept smiling and smiling and checking the mirror the whole day after the makeover!

IMG_3699 IMG_3703

Nicky, the Reflexologist and my friend

Nicky is South African. She has been giving Reflexology treatments to me for nearly a year and each time we have a session I tell her that I would love to tweak her smile! At last she took time off from her busy schedule and came in for her makeover just before her holiday back to Cape Town with her kids.

IMG_3749 IMG_3752

Noorazlan, the JKR Man

En Noorazlan found the blog whilst searching for a dentist for his tilting teeth. He was worried that he had begun to notice they were becoming loose. Braces was out of the question! I did a clean up and told him I’d get rid of the unsightly gaps and since they were now touching his teeth won’t move so much hence would soon tighten up in his gums. He loved the results!

Before IMG_3664

Sharifah, the Airline Executive

I could hardly believe Sharifah had grandchildren! She is such a pretty granny but was worried about the spaces that were beginning to appear and the drifting of her lower tooth. A cleanup and a makeover gave this young, elegant grandma the smile she loved.

Before After ... a granny that's so pretty!

Zarina, the executive

Zarina didn’t want to go through 2 years worth of braces and but she wanted to do something about the uneven smile. We talked about a compromise which meant she’d still sort out her uneven teeth but they remained where they were … She loved the results and it took just about an hour!

Before After

Sabaruddin, the Engineer

Sabaruddin is an old friend of mine who resisted closing the gap between his teeth for what seemed like forever! Recently he was invited to come in for a check up by the Telemarketing Department staff as he had not been to the clinic for some time. Sabaruddin made the makeover appointment immediately and just look at his transformation!

Before After

Nani, the Banker

Nani found the blog whilst surfing the net for makeovers. She was terrified of dentists and first wrote to me about taking out a broken tooth. After the initial visit and one less tooth later, we spoke about her makeover and I gave her the treatment plan and a quotation. She came back again for the makeover which was a birthday gift from her doting husband! She wrote to me recently on how her makeover had changed her life (see Comments in A Gallery of Makeovers: Nani July 3rd 2009 ) This is one of the most fulfilling makeovers I have done to date.

Before After

Norhafidzah, the College Lecturer

Norhafidzah is a beautiful and gracious lady that teaches English in a local University. It turned out that she taught my eldest son last year. When she saw the results she exclaimed,”Shanaz should have told me to come and see you last year!” I laughed and pointed out that it would be hilarious (and my son wouldn’t have scored any extra marks) if he had gone up to his lecturer and recommended his mother to do a makeover to improve her smile!!

Before After

Ezwan, the Banker

Ezwan was referred by Betty, a friend, who encouraged him to come in as she had done her makeover and could tell him first hand that it really didn’t hurt! He was like so many people scared of dentists but really wanted to have a smile he always dreamt of. He got what he wanted and just in time for his birthday too!

Before After

Rozalin, the Web Designer

Rozalin found us whilst surfing for a dentist to do a makeover. She couldn’t do braces to correct her smile as she had an allergy to all types of pain medication so even the transient pain every few weeks was not something she could handle easily. The makeover we did more than solved her problem as it was absolutely pain free and gave her what she wanted in just an hour too. (See Rozalin’s Comments on the post Today’s Beautiful Smile: Rozalin for her comments July 4 , 2009) This why I do what I do!

Before After

Mahmud, the Suave Actor

Mahmud has twice acted as Fizo’s father in different local sitcoms. The handsome, suave actor was less than happy with his smile and wanted a younger look. Just getting into the clinic for his makeover was a challenge as his shooting schedule was hectic but he managed to squeeze in time for the first phase of his makeover.

Before After

Roslina, the Government Exec

Roslina was going to a seminar where she was planning to meet many of her old colleagues. She was nervous but her husband who had been treated before, was there throughout the makeover appointment, to give her moral support. When the makeover was done, En Adnan said it was like he had a new wife without having to re-marry!

Before After

Betty, the Boutique Owner

Betty had been referred by a friend. She had to reschedule her appointment once and on the day she came in for her makeover, she had a flat tire! I really acknowledge her for her determination to get her makeover … and pleased she certainly was.

The IRS Executive

This young lady already had a very pretty smile. She came in for the usual clean up and asked if I could do anything to even out her teeth … I was only too happy to comply. Half an hour later she had a smile she could flash with confidence.

Before After

Mowindran, the Student

Mowindran had a nasty accident on his bike. He hobbled into the clinic the moment he could get out of bed and told me he had been pain for days! His leg was nastily twisted and he had lacerations on his limbs. His teeth weren’t so lucky either but we soon gave him back his handsome smile!

An unhappy young man Handsome again A close up

Aireen, The Bank Executive

I just had to offer to do a makeover for Aireen after her routine treatment. She had asked me about braces anyway so of course I told her there was a fast, painless option as she hardly needed much to have a beautiful smile. And yes, she was pleased with the results!

Before After Isn't she pretty!

Izzati, the Event Executive

Izzati had a small face and jaw but rather large teeth. She did not want to have braces done and was quite happy to just tidy up the look in her smile. I told her I could not shrink her teeth but I could make them look less messy. Just half an hour later both her mother, who accompanied her, and Izzati were very pleased with the makeover.

Before After

Diwani, the Income Tax Executive

Diwani had sensitive teeth because she had brushed deep cuts into her teeth at the gum margins. She couldn’t drink cold or hot drinks as they made her cringe with pain. After we sorted that complaint out, Diwani asked me if I could sort out the gaps in her front teeth as pieces of food tended to get caught in them after meals and it was so embarrassing! Sorting that complaint was a walk in the park and took less than half an hour!

Before After

Anne Marie, the Music Composition Undergraduate/ Blogger

Anne Marie had only intended to do a scaling but soon was persuaded to do a makeover. She is a beautiful girl who was about to start her degree in Music. She was so pleased she even linked her blog to mine! That was so cool!! To check out Anne Marie’s blog post, please go to http://amcheong.blogspot.com/2009/06/gift-of-smile.html

Before After

The Income Tax Executive

Everyone seems to fear the Income Tax Department. My father who was a dentist was tickled each time he was paid for services given to the IRD staff as he was their panel dentist. Since I became a panel dentist for the IRD I too get cheques from them! This lady came in to close the gap between her front teeth. I told her about how it wasn’t good Feng Shui, so when she saw the result she had even more reason to smile!

Before After

Awie, The Actor

Awie is a friend of Erry Putra and Fizo. They have all acted on various local TV dramas. Awie said he was always conscious of his uneven teeth and wanted a dazzling smile. Both Erry and Fizo had told him it was painless so he made an appointment and we worked out a two phase treatment plan. Phase One we have completed. He now has to find the time from his busy shooting schedule for Phase Two.

Before After Stage One

Kian, The Undergraduate

Kian heard from his friends that he could close the gaps between his teeth and soon made an appointment for a makeover. He had considered getting braces but he didn’t have the time, the patience and the money. He checked the blog and came in to find out if I could wave the magic wand for him! One hour later, Kian was grinning from ear to ear!

Before After

Moses, the 13-year old

Moses had been teased by his school mates and scolded by his teachers. No one believed him when he told them that his teeth were like that because of prolonged antibiotics when he was little due to a bad burn on his arm that got infected. He was painfully shy and did not talk much except to his parents and immediate family. He had this HUGE grin when he saw his new smile!

Before Before After After Moses new smile for school

Shah, the Hotel Supplier

Shah was brought in by his father for a scaling and polishing as he had very badly stained teeth due to his cigarette smoking. Once the stains were removed, I asked Shah if he would like a brand new smile? His dad supported him all the way as he was very nervous. The whole makeover took less than an hour! What a big difference it made to this young man’s smile, don’t you agree?

img_0659 After Scaling and Polishing After the makeover

William, the Website Designer

William found us on the internet as he browsed and googled for makeovers. It was hard to get him to smile at first, and he admitted one of the reasons which motivated him to check out makeovers was because he noticed he seldom smiled in all his past photos. He was easy-peasy to do too and everything was done in less than an hour with a quick flick of the magic wand. Later when I called him for feedback, he said his jaw ached …. from smiling so much!

Before After

Jessica, The American Potter

Jessica was on holiday for the first time in Malaysia. Her host told her that she could have a makeover whilst she was here. It was so funny when she came in, as we joked that  she didn’t dream that she was going to visit a dentist in Malaysia but she wanted the makeover and it was so, so much cheaper! The verdict …. she was ecstatic!

Before After

Fizo, The Handsome Actor

Fizo acts in many dramas and is very good looking and charming indeed. He already had an easy and ready smile but was bothered about the gap in his lower jaw that showed up during close-up shots. We fixed that in no time at all and spent the rest of the appointment having fun taking pictures and getting his autograph!

Before After

Cha, the Assistant in Secret Recipe

Each time I drop into the Secret Recipe outlet, Cha the Store Assistant, smiles at me. One day he asked me if I was the dentist across the road and whether I could do something for his smile. I told him to drop in and I’d do my magic! It took Cha quite a few months to actually come in for his makeover. He said if he knew it was so easy and so affordable, he would have come in ages ago!

Before After

Ibrahim, Thai Chef

Ibrahim was referred to me by his employer. He was a shy chef, specialising in spicy Thai food. He said he wanted to close the gap between his front tooth and I joked about how the profits from his business was going to be easier to keep as Feng Shui masters recommend closing gaps in smiles to hold the ‘chi’ in! This makeover took just half an hour … Ibrahim said he’d cook me up a storm when I next go to his restaurant!

Before After

The Bridegroom

This young man came in to get a denture for his missing tooth. Trouble was he also had gaps that had appeared as the remaining teeth were drifting into the gap. After the denture was made, step two of his makeover was some fillings to make the natural teeth look as good as his new tooth. Both the bridegroom and bride loved the results!

img_0563 With his new denture After the complete makeover

The Bank Executive

She came in not expecting to do anything other than routine dental treatment. I just couldn’t help but talk to her about creating a new smile and assured her it would take less than an hour and be totally painless. She didn’t need much persuasion and was super pleased with the results! Her ‘After’ smile says it all!!

Before After

Ainuddin the shy Contractor

Aishah, Ainuddin’s girlfriend persuaded him to do his makeover when he accompanied her to the clinic. He works in Kuala Trengganu so was seldom in KL. He is a handsome young man, so fitting for the beautiful Aishah who is about to join Qatar Airlines as an air stewardess. This was her farewell gift I suppose… so he’ll remember her when ever he looks in the mirror!

Before After

Mariam the College Teachers new smile

Mariam had wanted a new smile for a long time and found our blog whilst surfing the net. She was excited to find the clinic was not only in KL but was actually very close to where she worked. But what made her so very thrilled was when she was told how much it was going to cost and that it would take less than an hour. She kept smiling and smiling, readily and easily, after the makeover…. one very happy patient indeed.

img_0541 After

Azizul, the Airline Steward to be

Azizul wanted to have braces to correct his goofy smile but his interview with AirAsia was in 5 days. There was just no time to spruce up his smile so he opted for a makeover (his sister said it was an Extreme Makeover!) to add polish to a winning smile. It took less than an hour and he was absolutely pleased with the results!

Missing lateral incisors The missing teeth In just under an hour, a new smile No extractions too! Finally free!

Norazlina, The Bank Executive

She had just come from an antenatal appointment as she was 7 months pregnant and was excited to have a new smile as she welcomed the new baby! I told her to relax and let me wave my magic wand. Her husband who was waiting for her had no idea she was going through a transformation. When she came out smiling he grinned and said he didn’t notice anything different! He would have had a spectacular career as a politician!

Before After

Tina’s Makeover

Tina had seen me some months earlier but had to draw dutch courage as she was so afraid of the dentist! She called herself my Super Fussy patient as she scrutinized the new smile. She was about to go on holiday to Australia so wanted a holiday smile!

Before After

Ashley’s Makeover

Ashley had worked in Australia for two years but it was just too expensive to consider doing a makeover there. When she heard Tina, her cousin, was about to change her smile, she booked in for an appointment too! She came in trendy knee length boots and wanted a sassy smile to match!

Before After

Mum’s Makeover

Finally it was Mum’s turn. Tina’s mother decided to have her smile done too once she saw what a difference a little wand waving made for Tina and Ashley. So whilst the two cousins admired each other, it was Mum’s turn.

Before After

The Insurance Executive

She was referred to me by a friend who asked her if she ever thought of doing something about her pointy teeth. She was an absolutely gorgeous girl but could hardly smile for the Before Picture! She had an easy and ready smile once the permanent crowns were placed. Even the temporary crowns had her smiling during the short wait for the final makeover!

Before The temporary crowns Finally After

The Business Woman

She is an old friend who runs a business selling crafts in Genting Highlands. She came in for her regular clean-up and said she really hated the gap in her lower teeth. After just an hour, her husband who accompanied her thanked me for making her so happy.

Before After

The Analyst

This young lady is already very pretty and came in for regular dental treatment. She seldom smiled and said she thought herself as shy. I could not resist telling her of my magic wand. She made an appointment and at the end, when she looked at her new smile, she was so pleased her eyes leaked ….. and so did mine.

Before after

The Lawyer

She came in asking about orthodontics (braces) but did not want to spend the next 18 months with brackets on her teeth. When I suggested composite veneers she was thrilled that she could have the results immediately. This is now one happy. smiling lawyer!

Before After 45 minutes!

The Architect’s Apprentice

This young man has completed his architectural course in Australia and is now an apprentice in a firm in Sydney. He broke a tooth but being the extra nervous patient he was, waited two weeks before flying back to have his smile fixed! He is about to get engaged to the love of his life in February.

Don't I look cute? Now I can get engaged

The Busy Lecturer

This patient had a gap in her smile that she was less than happy with. Now, she has a smile that she thought was only possible with two years of braces, and she got it in half an hour instead!!

Before After

The Actress

This actress already looks beautiful but had a smile that could do with a makeover. Two sessions later she has a diamond placed on her lateral incisor for an added sparkle and small tweaks to give her that winning smile!

After

The Bridegroom

This young man was about to be married and wanted to surprise his wife-to-be before the wedding. An hour and a half later he was sporting his new grin and couldn’t wait to sweep his bride off her feet again!

IMG_0503 After

The Medical Student

She is studying medicine in Moscow which makes any discussions of orthodontic treatment out of the question to correct the splayed out toothy smile. So what we did was a session of cosmetic fillings that gave her the smile she wanted.

Splayed out teeth Side profile of her splayed out teeth After

The Oil and Gas Executive

This executive seldom smiled as she was concious of her crooked teeth. Her transformation gave her confidence to change jobs and step up the corporate ladder!

Before Stage 1 After

The Nursing Student

She walked into the clinic with a ‘plastic crown’ in her hand, seeking to recement it. This 20-year old from Trengganu had just started a nursing course and had little confidence as her smile was full of broken and mis-shappen teeth. It only took one short visit to change her smile fit for the pretty nurse she aspired to be!

Rizalie, the student

Rizalie fell face down onto a cement floor and broke his front teeth badly. He had seen a dentist to fix them but the fillings came off again. His mother had a makeover done earlier and brought him during his school holidays as a surprise as he thought he was just going to have a clean-up. Surprised he was!

Before After

The Undergraduate

He was skeptical anything could be done for his smile. He especially disliked how his front teeth kept getting stained as he smoked. Just two sessions had him grinning from ear to ear!

The 13-year Old Student

Her mother brought to see me as she was being teased at boarding school. She had large gaps between her front teeth both in the upper and her lower teeth, that made her self conscious …. it’s tough enough being on her own at school and going through her teenage years to boot! After talking to her to make sure she wanted the change, we created a new image for the new school term.

It was tough getting her to smile No problems smiling now!

The Head Hunter

Part of her job was interviewing people for placement for jobs but she felt self conscious of her own smile. A little wave of my magic wand had this dynamic lady smiling broadly.

Before Stage 1

The Actress

What a pretty young lady she was, and she already had starred in two films and several dramas! However as her smile was not ‘perfect’ this actress lost out on commercials that needed close-ups and she was less than confident during photo shoots for the magazine covers. Her makeover was just in time for the premier of her latest film though!

Before After

The New Graduate

She works for Astro and was about to go for her graduation dinner the next day. This young vivacious lady had fallen down on her face when she was 12 and now had a tilted, blackened dead tooth and missing lower teeth. She had been told that her only option was to go through 2 years of braces to close the gaps and then only have her tooth crowned. We created this smile in just two visits and it cost her a fraction of the earlier quote too!

Before

The New Graduate’s Mother

She has 8 children and bringing them up had been the focus of her life! She hadn’t given much time or thought to herself and now when the kids have grown up, she wanted a new smile. This exemplary mum deserved the best makeover I could give her. I think she was pleased!

The Banker

She lost a front tooth at a very early age. This banker had a crooked smile with three large front teeth with an off centre midline. I couldn’t do anything about the midline but the end result made her smile wide again!

The Technician

He had broken uneven teeth and wasn’t happy at all. The ‘after’ photograph was taken just an hour later!

The College Student

Kamil is my son’s college mate. He heard a lot about the makeovers and wanted one for himself as he had incisors of different length and pointy, sharp canines too. He came into the clinic with his gang in tow to give him the courage he needed!

The Pizza Delivery Boy

This young man had been in an accident whilst delivering pizza on his motorbike. He had suffered for a month both of embarrassment and sensitivity of his front teeth. Whilst taking a smoke break, he bumped into one of my nurses who assured him it would really be painless and would not cost him a lot of money either! He left the clinic smiling widely …. now I have to get him back in to do his scaling!

The Feng Shui Consultant’s Son

He is starting up a new business in software development for events. His mother advised him to close the gaps in his smile as, the mouth is said to be the keeper of secrets. Gaps then meant that ‘chi’ could escape. It is believed that gaps in ones smile may make it harder to have a profitable business. Closing the gaps in his smile was a cinch and if it meant easier profitability … why not!

The Architect with the United Nations

This Aussie was referred to me by a fellow dentist as he needed a clean up and was looking at doing a makeover. He works in Sri Lanka and had only a few days here before he went on home to Australia for his mother’s 70th birthday. He was thrilled with the result and was looking forward to flashing his new smile!

Another Oil and Gas Executive

This pretty young lady had a missing tooth. I had disguised her canine to look like a front tooth but she wanted to permanently close the gap in her smile.

The Copywriter

He works in a well known semi-government publishing firm and was told that I did makeovers. Once all the fillings he required were done, he asked me if I could improve his smile. We took just half an hour to do his makeover. What do you think of the resulting smile?

The Interior Designer

She had referred several patients to me for cosmetic work but hadn’t come in for a new smile for herself. This was the result of a quick makeover to fill in gaps.

The Point-Of-Sales Executive

He was told by the Feng Shui consultant to close the gap between his front teeth to ensure prosperity. Just before coming to see me, he went to another dentist that told him he needed to do crowns. I created his smile with just simple fillings which meant he got this new smile in less than half an hour, painlessly and it cost him a tenth of the price!

The Batik Centre Owner

He is part of my referral organisation chapter and had heard of my makeovers so he decided to give me a try. I think he was pretty pleased with the results

The Male Beautician and Slimming Consultant

This young man had a less than perfect smile which he was very unhappy about. He had always thought that improving it would be painful, take an awfully long time and be very costly. I was happy to give him a smile he loved in just one visit that was painless, took an hour and did not cost him his arm or leg! He even fell asleep during the process!

The Lawyer/Activist

This patient was referred to me by a friend who told him about her daughter’s experience in the clinic. He had braces put in at the age of 14 but was less than satisfied with the results. He actually came in thinking he needed to go through another two years of treatment. He got his new smile in about half an hour instead!

My Dive Buddy

I met my dive buddy on my last dive trip. One of the occupational hazards of being a dentist is I notice people’s smiles immediately and have to bite my tongue to stop myself from telling them about my magic wand! My dive buddy and I however got talking about our ‘jobs’ when we weren’t diving so one thing led to another and next thing was he said he would visit my clinic when we got back to civilization. I know he was pleased with the results! If he wasn’t, I would have to watch out that he doesn’t turn off my air when we are both 80 feet underwater!!

  2. Dr Fauziah Says:

    Hi Julia,

Sorry for the late reply. I fix the gaps by various methods depending on what you want. Most commonly with Composite Veneers which are tooth coloured fillings matched exactly to your natural teeth and polished to a fine gloss and shine.

Please check out the post on “The College Teacher’s New Smile” or “The Shy Contractor” post dated May 7 2009.

I hope this is informative enough!

Composite veneers generally cost RM200 to RM250 each. The best way is really be examined and get a proper and complete treatment plan so you can see how it fits your budget.

How much do charge to fix full set of denture (upper & lower) and can you recommend good type of denture availabe at your clinic?

    Regards

  9. admin Says:

    Hi Tini,

A full set of dentures could be with a plastic (acrylic) base or metal (chrome cobalt) base. The teeth are usually acrylic and have many grades.

Usually the plastic base is good for full dentures and would cost RM500 each which makes a full set, that is both upper and lower, RM1000 in total.

The chrome base would usually be advised only if the patient wanted a really thin base. It’s usually ‘overkill’ for full dentures. These dentures would cost RM850 each which would make a pair of upper and lower full dentures RM 1700.

The rule of thumb is RM150 for acrylic base and RM35 per tooth, or RM500 for the chrome base and still RM35 per tooth.

Pretty easy to calculate actually, but I’d still say come in for a consultation as then you could see the actual dentures to help you make your choice in material for the base.

The other consideration is the time it takes to make the dentures as the whole process is 4 steps in all. The chrome base will take a little longer between step 2 and 3 as the metal base is made of casted metal which take a week to fabricate.
Acrylic/plastics could be as fast as a week if the steps are timed right but not so for casted metal bases.

    Hope this makes sense!

I’m just so thankful to be able to find this website. After so long trying to figure out what to do with my uneven & splayed out tooth, I’m just glad to come close to the solution. I can’t do braces because of my allergic problem to painkillers (anything contain paracetamol) and it just making things worst. :(

After seeing so many testimonials in this gallery, I’m a bit relief coz I’m not the only one who had bad tooth problem. All this while i feel so insecured about my smile and even my hubby sometimes used to tease my smile because of my BIG teeths infront.

I hope I can have a great & beautiful smile after I get a treatment at your clinic. And hope that it can boost back my confidence . Insyallah.

It’ll be great to see you. I too am really thrilled that the blog is a working as it was intended … that people find there are other ways to check out for a beautiful smile.

It’s not about beauty in the end, isn’t it? It might look like it is at the start … but it really about self-confidence.

Something shifts in my world when I have self-confidence and a good feeling about myself. I do things differently, I take different actions when I feel happy with myself.

Life itself looks and occurs, differently.

I always am amazed at differences the makeovers make for many of the people I have treated.

There was a widower who finally got the courage to chat up a girl and now is married to her. He brought her to see me when he first started dating, two months ago he came in again for routine treatment and she is now his wife! Wow!!

There there was this lady that got the courage to look for a different job and there was this guy who landed his first job …. so many do different things because they had a different opinion of themselves and were happy!

Please tell me when we do meet that you were the person from the blog.

And thank you for your comments …. the real life comments from real patients, as you rightly mentioned, do give make people take action for themselves … They know when it’s the real thing!

    Hi Dr. Fauziah,

I have one of my front teeth is inwards (upper jaw) and uneven teeth. How much it will cost? Does the composite veneers will last forever coz i afraid the teeth might get broken.

Posted on June 29th, 2009 at 1:44 pm

  17. Dr Fauziah Says:

    Hi Ryna,

Giving you a quote from what you have described is kind of difficult. It would be great if you come in so I can see what you want and what you do/don’t like about your smile.

Composite veneers are fillings however they do last like all other fillings especially if due care was excercised when making them.

As to your teeth getting broken … that is most unlikely from the making of the veneers!!

If you look at previous posts and comments, you’d see that veneers are quite, quite safe. The usual care is necessary, like the regular brushing and flossing and visits to the dentist would be expected.

I’d come in for an initial examination and discussion if I were you….
    so call Idayu at 603-26917359
    or Hapiza at 603-41071591
and get them to book you in today!

I attended a 3-days workshop day after the makeover. The speaker is from Australia & participants are from Malaysia, Indonesia & Singapore.

I’ve attended so many workshops & conference …but this workshop really make me exist. You know why?.. because of my new teeth.. I have confident to give comment, argue, ask question & lingering around with other participants.

Thanks again Dr Fauziah.. .I feel like crying because too.. happy.

FYI.. I also ask my friends to surf your blog. Have a nice day!

    Happy Birthday, Nani!!!

I am so happy YOU are happy …

The most fulfilling part of my makeovers is when my patients experience just what you described…”have confident to give comment, argue, ask question & lingering around with other participants.” …. your whole experience of yourself has shifted!

Thank you Nani for sharing this.

    Hai Dr.Fauziah,

Earlier you remind me to post a comment, so here goes..

Thanks for your lovely notes on my makeover, I really like reading it. By the way I’m not that scared just a little nervous of the unknown. Thank you for making my 1st dentistry makeover so comfortable & memorable. What I learnt from this experience was value what you have and a simple act of kindness is really worth while, as what you did for me and my sister.

After this I will make a habit of surfing you web, just in case you found a shark while diving..hehe

Thank you again for being soo real and kind

    Best wishes!!! (^___^)

Terima Kasih.

    As/kum Dr. Fauziah

    Saya A’kum Dr.Fauziah,

Saya mempunyai masalah gigi besar & jarang dibahagian depan.

Dari pic yang saya lihat from mariam, gigi jarang yg asal tu seperti telah dicabut. is that true?

    2- kos rawatan yg dikenakan?

    3- rawatan tersebut menyakitkan ke?

4- after mendapatkan rawatan, pesakit boleh makan makanan yg keras & liat?

5- gigi baru perlu di servis ke?

Posted on October 23rd, 2009 at 1:02 pm

  32. Dr Fauziah Says:

    Hi Fazliana,

No Mariam did not remove her teeth! What I did was to place composite veneers on her teeth which made them look larger and filled in the gaps! They are still her original teeth.

Cost rawatan depends on what work you need so it’s very susah to quote you when I haven’t seen you!! ;)

Usually the patient can eat normal food after the treatment but I usually pesan to not eat batu, kaca and kayu … and jangan buka tin atau plastic dengan gigi.

I don’t know if you need a scaling…. you need to have a check up first for me to be able to advise you.

Call Idayu or Amy at 03-26911334 and say you are from the website OK. Ask for an hour so I can really examine you and tell you what you can do or cannot do.

    Hi Dr

I would like to know more about your cosmetic makeover.. How much per teeth? And how long is your guarantee period? let say in a week, there’s a bit gap after u we did the makeover? Do u still charge for it? Although takes us for two months to see u again.

How much also if there’s only small small gap to do the makeover?

    thanks

Posted on February 16th, 2010 at 5:41 pm

  35. Dr Fauziah Says:

    Hi Azlan,

It’s kind of hard to say how much it would cost without seeing you. Sometimes you may need a full composite veneer, sometimes a half veneer, sometimes it’s just a regular filling! As a guide, Composite Veneers are RM250, Half Veneers are RM150 and a simple filling is RM80-100. See what I mean!

The best way is to have the examination done and get a quote!

As to guarantee .. well we guarantee all our work for one month, you usually have eaten all sorts of stuff, hard/soft, crunchy/sticky, hot/cold, etc in a month…. at least 100 meals too … so we figure a month should be more than enough for something to happen.

No we don’t charge a second time within the guarantee period … though it expected that you come in immediately!

    Hope to see you soon!

Cost untuk buat rawatan pemutihan berapa Dr?

Posted on March 18th, 2010 at 5:02 pm

  38. Dr Fauziah Says:

    Hi Hazey,

Kos rawatan pemutihan dengan Zoom! ialah RM1600. It takes about one and a half hours because I do a lot of preliminary work and also a lot of post treatment for you.

Zoom! is the best treatment in the market right now. The actual treatment is for 4 cycles which is 15 minutes each.

Call Idayu or Amy at 03-26911334 or Hapiza at 03-41071591 and they’ll be happy to slot you in for an appointment to discuss your options.

  39. Dr Fauziah Says:

    Hi,

Composite Veneers boleh tahan lama, yes they last and last but like anything else they need the usual care of cleaning and checking. They do last for years but again it all depends on the tooth itself and the way you eat! Your normal diet should be fine for veneers as long as you don’t decide to start eating stones, bones, metal rods and wood, they should last like any other fillings/restorations. ;)

  40. sasha Says:

    Salam Dr. Fauziah,
I’m 44, hope not too late! I wore braces when I was 11 but took them out after 6 months due to pain. My teeth is ugly, berlapis dibwh dan bertaring dikiri dan kanan atas. Before putting on the braces, doctor pulled out 4 teeth, 2 top & 2 bottom on both sides. You can imagine how ugly right doctor?

Last week I accompanied my colleague, she had her bridge fixed at a dentist in Damansara, the doctor persuaded me to check my teeth. Looking at my friend, I asked opinion on bridge. He said bridge will only cover the missing teeth, costly for me coz i have to fix all 4 sides and yet no difference at the front and bottom or to my smile. He advised me to use braces. But then, braces will take 3 years! Id be losing my all teeth by then.

I saw your website today and immediately called Idayu for appt. I’m a bit scared and shy to see you. What’s your general advise based on what I mentioned, Dr.? I would want to be prepared mentally, physically and financially when I see you next week. Looking at your patients make over really gives me the urge to meet you. Please help. Thank you.

  41. Dr Fauziah Says:

    Hi Sasha,

Thanks for writing even after making your appointment. I have been so busy these past months that keeping up with the blog has been such a challenge! But seeing all the comments that have been backlogged and the numerous makeovers I have YET to post has made me determined to answer comments at least twice a week!

To answer your question … to prepare for the braces to move in your teeth the dentist would have taken out 4 teeth … one on each side of your upper and lower jaws. Putting in bridges to replace the missing teeth just puts you back to square one … with nothing done to correct the fronts.

Perhaps veneers would help .. I can’t say right now without looking at you, I really need to do that first, dear. But I can tell you it won’t cost you an arm and a leg … really. And the best part is, it won’t be painful either .. so there’s nothing to do but relax OK. Just come in and we’ll talk and work out a plan next week. ;)
